Alle liederen waren namelijk gecomponeerd op teksten van dichteressen. De componisten waren allemaal mannen, behalve bij het laatste lied van Barbara. Deze Franse chansonni\u00e8re schreef zelf zowel de tekst als de muziek.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deze originele invalshoek leverde een afwisselend programma op. Voor de pauze was er aandacht voor von Willemer, von G\u00fcnderrode, Kulmann en Dickinson met muziek van onder anderen Schubert, Schumann, Rihm en Copland. In het tweede deel van het recital waren Teasdale, de Chateaubriand, de Vilmorin en Barbara de dichteressen en Laitman, Milhaud, Poulenc en Barbara de componisten. Maria Portela richtte haar toelichting op de schrijfsters, die het vaak zwaar hadden door de maatschappelijke conventies en hun problemen met relaties. Met haar stralende en pure sopraanstem nam Maria Portela het publiek mee in de positieve verlangens naar liefde. Met evenveel gemak kon ze de sfeer doen omslaan en overtuigde ze in de depressieve drama\u2019s. Jou-an liet de vleugel fluisteren en bulderen en ondersteunde de expressie van de sopraan voortreffelijk. Na een lang slotapplaus brachten zij als toegift een Chinees lied op een 11e-eeuwse tekst, uiteraard van een dichteres.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tijdens het concert had het publiek vanuit de boot een prachtig uitzicht op het water. Vanwege de warmte stond een van de grote ramen open en hoorde men af en toe het geluid van voorbijvarende boten. De golfslag, die daardoor ontstond, gaf mooie spiegelingen op het plafond en droeg bij aan de po\u00ebtische sfeer. Op de achterwand van de ruime woonkamer hing een collage met het portret van een beroemde sopraan en naamgenote van de zangeres.
