Haugtussa
family performance 6+
During this family performance, Maartje Stokkers tells the story of Haugtussa. She lives with her mother and her goats in the Norwegian mountains. Actually, her name is Gislaug, but she has always been different from the others, which is why everyone calls her Haugtussa, ‘the troll girl’. She sees and hears things that others don't. What kind of things, then? Well, she sees an animal in front of every person, she talks to her dead sister and she can predict the future. Haugtussa is wise and very brave. Of course, when the troll king asks her to come live with him on his mountain, she won't go. And she is certainly not afraid of dangerous beasts! She gets along fine with the bear and the dangerous wolf. One day, she meets a nice boy called Jon. She falls very much in love with him, but when he doesn't turn up on their date on Sunday, she seeks solace in the brook, which never stops babbling and murmuring.
