Soprano Francis van Broekhuizen and pianist Femke de Graaf, like many Vrienden van het Lied others this year, are celebrating a milestone: ‘In 2001 we became a duo and worked together towards our first big concert: Francis’ bachelor’s degree in classical singing at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.’ Their theme at the time – friendship – was incorporated into their program for the anniversary day.

Masters in the making

Soprano Dārta Liepiņa and pianist Enrico Clerico are studying at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. As a duo, they will give a half-hour recital in TivoliVredenburg on 18 October for Vrienden van het Lied, thus becoming the first duo to represent the new Art of Song master's specialisation (Lied art). This master's degree is only available in The Hague.
