Poetry on the move - Western European poems in a Russian setting At the time of Romanticism, poetry served partly to exchange ideas across borders
Poetry on tour - Western European poems in a Russian jacket
At the time of Romanticism, poetry served partly to exchange ideas across borders. The sometimes somewhat free translations were a source of inspiration for Russian song composers of the time, from Glinka to Rachmaninov. For this programme, the duo chose the finest examples, sometimes with different translations or settings of the same poem.
