Daniel Hermán Mostert

Daniël Hermán Mostert is active as an ensemble singer and as an oratorio, opera and Lieder singer. He has been with the Groot Omroepkoor in Hilversum since 2010.

biography

Daniël Hermán Mostert (Cluj-Napoca - Romania, 1977) obtained his propaedeutic degree in Theology in Romania, completed a study in music therapy in Enschede and then studied Classical Singing at the ArtEZ Conservatory. He studied the latter with Anne Haenen, Annette Kleine and Harry van Berne. In 2008, he completed his bachelor studies and in April 2010 his master studies.

He took master classes with David Wilson-Johnson, Meinard Kraak, Johannette Zomer, Tan Crone, Carolyn Watkinson and Barbara Schlick; regularly within Marien van Nieukerken's song class.

Daniel is active as an ensemble singer and as an oratorio, opera and Lieder singer. Together with Russian pianist Sofia Vasheruk he forms a duo. They performed at the WDR-Musikfest in Münster and the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam. In 2009, they won the Vrienden van het Lied prize at the first International Student Lied Duo Competition in Enschede, as a result of which both were included in the society's soloist roster.

Also with other pianists, such as Marien van Nieukerken and Rixt van der Kooij, Daniël has given song recitals. Since April 2010, Daniël has been part-time with the Groot Omroepkoor in Hilversum.

Among others, Daniel performed the role of Adonis in Venus and Adonis by John Blow; by Dr Pangloss and Martin in a Dutch adaptation of Candide by Leonard Bernstein (in a RAP production by the National Travel Opera) and by Gil in Il segreto di Susanna, by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari.
