David Bollen

David Bollen worked for De Nederlandse Opera, Opera Zuid, Opera Trionfo and for several separate opera productions. He also regularly gives song recitals and performs at home and abroad with, among others, ensemble Frommermann.

biography

David Bollen was born in Amsterdam, where he initially studied violin with Jan Bor and Bouw Lemkes. For his piano studies, he left for Salzburg, where he studied at the Mozarteum and accompanied several master classes during the Internationale Sommerakademie.

In the Netherlands, he worked for De Nederlandse Opera, Opera Zuid, Opera Trionfo and for several separate opera productions, as well as for the International Vocalist Competition in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and the Cristina Deutekom Concours in Enschede. He has accompanied master classes of renowned opera stars, lieder singers and vocal pedagogues, such as Margreet Honig, Ira Siff, Regine Crespin, Mikeal Eliasen, Graig Rutenberg, Jerome Hines, Elly Ameling and Udo Reinemann.

David Bollen regularly performs in song recitals, with singers such as Marcel Reijans, Mattijs van de Woerd and Jan Willem Baljet. Harry Peeters and Udo Reinemann were also among his musical partners. As a chamber musician, he won the Charles Hennen Chamber Music Competition in 1999, together with Janine Jansen and Cristian Poltera. David Bollen performs at home and abroad, for radio and television, including with ensemble Frommermann, of which he has been a member since its inception in 2005. As a teacher, he works at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music.
