Together with violinist Diet Tilanus and cellist Jurrian van der Zanden, he forms the Jacob Olie Trio. In addition, Jacobus is pianist of the Simeon Quartet, which focuses on performing the works of Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt.
In 2013, Jacobus collaborated with renowned Dutch fashion designer Jan Taminiau. He played works by Mozart and Satie during the presentation of Tamniau's summer collection in Paris and Amsterdam.
Jacobus is also active as an arranger. For instance, he made an arrangement of Schubert's Winterreise for baritone and piano trio. For the International Cello Biennale Amsterdam, he created a version of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem for choir and ten cellos. And for the International Cello Festival Zutphen, a version of Willem Jeths' Requiem for an ensemble of cellos and percussion, at the request of, and in collaboration with, the composer himself.
Jacobus plays a Bechstein grand piano, provided to him by the National Musical Instruments Fund in Amsterdam.
