This year the choice has fallen on Fontys, the Tilburg Conservatory. Students are going with Winterreise differently get to work on a special, staged performance that approaches Schubert's well-known lied cycle from a fresh perspective.
To prepare for the performances, thanks to a contribution from the Teuny van Wijgerden Fund, two workshops are even being given instead of one: on 13 October by pianist Jan-Paul Grijpink, and on 27 October by baritone Robbert Muuse. The liederen of Winterreise differently have meanwhile been distributed among the students and one of the drama teachers from Fontys will soon be rehearsing with them.
Four performances are planned: on 16 and 17 December at 17:00 and 19:30. Members of the public are very welcome, so do come and listen to the timeless beauty of Schubert, performed by the stars of tomorrow.
