Julia Mikhailova was born in the Siberian city of Omsk. She has been actively involved in music since the age of five. In 2021, she graduated with distinction from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where she studied piano with Sergei Dorensky and Nikolai Lugansky.
Julia is dedicated to art lied and focuses on the interpretation of German lied and French mélodie, with works by female composers holding a special place in her repertoire. Since 2023, she has been studying lied interpretation (Liedgestaltung) with Ulrich Eisenlohr at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. She has participated in masterclasses with Anne Le Bozec and has been affiliated with Vrienden van het Lied since 2026. As a lied accompanist and solo pianist, she regularly takes part in concerts, festivals and masterclasses. In addition, Julia teaches piano and is involved in free improvisation.
