The recital blue is a poetic reverie on the symbolism of the colour blue. A colour that evokes the image of the sea and the sky. Which gives a sense of calm, stability and freedom, but also the colour of innocence and timidity. After all, we say: someone is a bit blue. And our phrase ‘blue Monday’ means ephemeral, fleeting. ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’, do you know that expression? Francine van der Heijden and Phyllis Ferwerda let memories and a fresh look to the future coincide in this programme with songs by Vaughan Williams, Britten, de Séverac, Poulenc and Wainwright.
