Britten Open Stage at 65th anniversary

Many amateur singers enjoy collaborating with an instrumentalist lied to perform at a members-for-members concert, during workshops, or on other stages. These duos are warmly welcomed at the Open Stage during the anniversary celebration on Sunday 18 October in Utrecht.

This year is the 50the The death anniversary of Benjamin Britten is commemorated. He wrote plenty of vocal music and numerous wonderful liederen and arrangements for solo voice with accompaniment. The Open Stage is therefore dedicated to Britten.

Two one-hour slots have been set aside for this Open Stage, from 12:30 to 13:30 and from 15:00 to 16:00, both in the Punt at TivoliVredenburg with a fine grand piano.

Preference is given to vocal duos with piano, harp or guitar. For those without an accompanist, Femke de Graaf and Bas Verheijden are on standby.

Access to this Anniversary Day is just €25 for members, and participation in the Britten Open Stage is subsequently free of charge. With approximately 8 minutes of music per duo, 12 duos can participate.

Singer

  • advanced amateur 
  • member of VvhL (you can also become a member upon registration)


instrumentalist

  • pianist, harpist or guitarist
  • need not be an amateur or a member of Vrienden van het Lied


Registration
Please enter your details in the form at the bottom of this page. Placement is on a first-come, first-served basis. Depending on the number of applications and the duration per lied, 2 or 3 liederen can be performed. Each performance lasts a maximum of 8 minutes. When compiling the programme, the jubilee committee will focus primarily on diversity and will try to avoid an excess of duplicates.

Registration for the Britten Open Stage is no longer possible.
