In a short space of time, no fewer than 16 advanced amateur singers and pianists registered for the Britten Open Stage. They will perform at De Punt in TivoliVredenburg and together present a particularly varied programme. The established duos and newly formed duos alike will perform a colourful selection from Benjamin Britten's versatile liedrepertoire. It is a wonderful opportunity to discover this extraordinary music live and enjoy the passion and talent of these dedicated musicians.
Singers must be members of Vrienden van het Lied. This condition does not apply to accompanists (pianists and, where applicable, guitarists or harpists). Do not have your own accompanist? Then pianists Femke de Graaf and Bas Verheijden are ready to help.
Registration for the Britten Open Stage is no longer possible.
Participant feedback
We asked two participating duos how they experienced Britten's music and how they are preparing for the Open Stage. For tenor Ed Rosbergen and pianist Corien Benschop, performing Britten's lied pieces is like having a conversation with him.
