Maurice Lammerts van Bueren graduated as Performing Musician with Jan Wijn at the Amsterdam Conservatory. He continued his studies for the chamber music endorsement at the same institute with Ludmilla Baslawskaja.

Song accompaniment lessons he received from Graham Johnson, among others, and Rudolf Jansen.

Maurice Lammerts van Bueren has devoted himself entirely to song accompaniment. He has performed with many singers, including Ellen Valkenburg, Angelika Kirchschlager, Henk Neven, Minho Jeong, Thomas Oliemans, Esther Kuiper, Sven Weyens, Lilian Farahani, Robert Holl, Marcel Reijans, Aldona Bartnik, Florieke Beelen, Ekaterina Levental, Henriette Feith and Hans Pieter Herman. In the coming seasons, new collaborations are planned with French soprano Myriam Arbouz and Estonian soprano Maria Valdmaa, among others. He is founder and pianist of the Coco Collective.

Besides performances in the Netherlands, he has given chamber music and song recitals in Belgium, Germany, France, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Taiwan, Syria, Trinidad and the United States. A number of song recitals in Estonia are planned in 2020.

He recorded 14 CDs with labels such as Zefir Records, Etcetera, Avie Records and Naxos. His CD The Moon's a Gong, hung in the Wild featuring mezzo-soprano Angelika Kirchschlager was in the top 5 of Best CDs in 2015 at Opera Netherlands. The CD The Silver Age with mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Levental was CD of the Week on NPO Radio 4 and was in the Top 10 of Best CDs in 2017 From Basia con Fuoco. The CD Songs and Sketches featuring songs and piano works by Dutch composer Dirk Fock, with soprano Irene Maessen and baritone Mattijs van de Woerd, was awarded a 10 in the magazine Listen. The CD Woman - the making of... featuring soprano Lilian Farahani was voted Critic's choice in the renowned New York magazine Opera News. In January 2021, the CD Les Apaches with soprano Ellen Valkenburg from the Zefir Records label.

As a coach, he is attached to the vocal department of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. As a guest teacher, he gave song accompaniment lessons, master classes and song classes at the ArtEZ Conservatoire in Enschede and the HKU Utrecht Conservatoire. Since 2008, he has been a Steinway Artist.

Besides music, Maurice has another passion: as a portrait photographer, he regularly shoots portraits of singers, instrumentalists and writers. His photos have been published in various newspapers, including the NRC, Algemeen Dagblad and Volkskrant.
