The standard was exceptionally high and made the choice for the jury anything but easy. Jury chair Francis van Broekhuizen eventually announced the results, after which H.R.H. Princess Irene presented the prizes.

The expert jury was full of praise: ‘What fantastic, deeply moving and mature musicians we’ve seen and heard today. The Netherlands is bursting with musical talent – we will certainly be seeing these six finalists again on the big stages.’
