Vesna Dimcevska

Vesna Dimcevska specialised in piano accompaniment at the National Conservatory of Toulouse, where she developed her passion for the song repertoire. She also performed as a soloist in (chamber music) concerts and at festivals.

In 2013, Vesna Dimcevska completed her master's degree at ArtEZ Conservatorium in Zwolle, where she worked with Frank van de Laar. In January 2012, she won the Audience Prize of the Grachtenfestival Conservatory Competition in Amsterdam, and was invited to give a recital at the Grachtenfestival in August 2012. Since 2014, Vesna has been a teacher at the ArtEZ Conservatorium in Zwolle, where she works as piano accompanist of the Jong Talent class.

Born in Skopje, Macedonia, Vesna Dimcevska started playing the piano at the age of six. She graduated from the National Academy of Music in Sofia. She took master classes with Boris Romanov, Willem Brons, Paul Komen, Igor Roma and Ilona Timchenko, among others. At the National Conservatory in Toulouse, France, she specialised in piano accompaniment and there developed her passion for the song repertoire. She worked with Nino Pavlenishvili, Anne Grapotte and Susan Manoff, among others, at the Academy of Mélodie Française for singers and pianists in Toulouse.

Vesna performed as a soloist with the state orchestra in Sofia and played solo and chamber music recitals in Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, France and the Netherlands. She has also played at the invitation of several festivals, including Carré d'As in Chartres, Nuits musicales in Armagnac, Espace Croix Baragnon in Toulouse and the Ohridsko Leto Festival.

With her brother, violinist Gjorgi Dimcevski, she recorded a CD with works by Grieg, Tchaikovsky and Sarasate, among others. Together with mezzo-soprano Sara Klein Horsman, she plays recitals of song and opera repertoire, coached by Rudolf Jansen. In November 2015, they joined the Friends of Song as a song duo.
