Mezzo-soprano Suzanne Charité and pianist Yik Toong, a duo from Fontys University of Applied Sciences, opened this part of the Dag van het Lied by performing two liederen from Jan Willem Nelleke's song cycle ‘In de Biesbosch’.

A hundred thousand kisses

In the large hall at Zusterplein, a large audience has gathered during Dag van het Lied, curious to see 14 students from Codarts Rotterdam and three pianists for a performance on an international lied stage. With flair and a slight flush on their cheeks, the group takes their place on the stage of the Internationaal Lied Festival Zeist.
